Birth: 1797 Henry was born in Frankfurt am Main, Nassau, Germany. His father was Phillip Ohelmacher, a shepherd, who lived and died there. Henry's family went down the Rhine to Rotterdam, and from there went to London, where they were joined by Henry, who had fled the country, having participated in the revolution of 1848. He had escaped to Switzerland then to London. Henry served with German troops under Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo (June 12-18 1815), and was with the army that marched into Paris, where at Castle Hugenot, his brother, a fine marksman, jumped on the wall to bring down a French officer. He succeeded, but received a bullet through his own head. (Seems there were other fine marksmen there as well.) Henry was by trade a gilder of metals, such as swords, guns, etc., which were all done by hand. He married Catherine Preisterbach, born in Nassau, Germany, in 1805, an only child. He died at age 76; Catherine at age 86. They were living on Kelley's Island on a farm with their daughter, Philobena, in an 1860s census. A portion of this land where the house was located has recently been purchased by a descendant of Henry. The foundation of the house is still there.
