Note
|
Cousin Norman and Cousin Jennie came to get Grandmother and me every morning in their car (Grandmother had no car; funny, I never noticed that then). They took us to Beckers' farm to get milk. The three of them sat in the front seat, I sat in back with Renee, their little bull terrier. I amused myself by moving the little dividing arm in the middle of the seat up and down. Cousin Jennie was out of it all the time I knew her, saying little but "ah - ah." Evenings, they came to get us again, and took us around to visit the old Kelleys, of whom there were several. We especially visited Cousin Norman's daughter Alice and her family, down on the east shore, and I later became a close friend of Alice's daughter Margie. Fran and Roger were older.
