Obituary

Senora Mae Swanson, 92, of Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday, March 9, 2011, at Lutheran Memorial Home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Mansfield, OH to the late Lawrence Swanson and Estella (Ward) Swanson, and later moved to Sandusky, graduating from the Sandusky High School, Class of 1938. Senora retired from Hills Department Store after 27 years of service. She was a member of First Faith Community Church, the Amvets Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Michael Allen Swanson, of Sandusky, two grandchildren, Michael J. and Amanda K. Swanson, and her brother, Robert M. Swanson, all of Sandusky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy J. Meilink, and her brothers, Lawrence W. Swanson and Richard N. Swanson. A memorial service will be held at First Faith Community Church, 225 E. Jefferson at Hancock St., Sandusky, OH on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Sand Hill Cemetery. Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky, OH is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to First Faith Community Church, 225 E. Jefferson St., Sandusky, OH 44870.
