Note: I'm pretty sure that this is the Cousin Gertrude Woodford who used to visit the Inn with Cousin Jessie Carpenter, a picture of the two of them in my back hallway. I remember going to see her on Catawba Island. So the wife of Captain Corydon Woodford is not the one I knew. Anne Cleary Sennish.

Note

My notes say she married a Charles T. Downs, birth and death dates unknown.
But we knew her as Cousin Gertrude Woodford (if she's the one!).
There was a Downs family on the Island, married to the Upps (!) and living in the corner house across Ward Rd. from the school. That was the Upp house. Anne Cleary Sennish
